IFB responds to new UK fraud strategy

Ursula Jallow, Director at IFB, has responded to the Government's new fraud measures:

“We welcome the new measures being introduced to tackle fraud which have been announced by the Prime Minister today.

“Every minute in the UK an insurance scam takes place, resulting in countless vulnerable people being exploited and facing even greater costs. 

“A ban on cold calls to prevent bogus insurance products being sold is a positive development. We also hope that these new fraud measures will make it more difficult for unscrupulous claims management companies to target the public and farm unsolicited insurance claims.” 

“As the cost-of-living crisis continues to fuel economic crime, the new fraud strategy could not come at a more critical time. We are committed to collaborating with the government and its soon-to-be launched National Fraud Squad, to help make their plans to drive down fraud a success.”
