Individual accused of fabricating fire-damage property claims faces court

An individual is facing court after being charged for 11 counts of fraud by misrepresentation following a string of suspected fraudulent property claims, following a successful collaborative investigation with South Wales Police Regional and Organised Crime Unit (ROCU). They are alleged to have fabricated fire damage in order to help facilitate the claims.

"Those thinking of pretending their property has been damaged to make a quick buck on an insurance claim should know it isn't worth the risk - they will get caught. We're pleased that charges have been made against this reckless individual and we would like to thank South Wales Police for their collaboration into this complex investigation. Despite being in unprecedented times, the Insurance Fraud Bureau is continuing with business as usual when it comes to protecting the industry and consumers from organised insurance fraudsters.
