IFB celebrates one year of its Affiliate Model
25 April 2018
The Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB) is celebrating the success of its Affiliate Model one year since it was launched in April 2017 as a means to extend its membership to the wider insurance industry.
IFB’s Affiliate Model has gone from strength to strength in its first year, welcoming 14 new members whose access to data plays an instrumental role in detecting fraud, adding significant value to IFB’s overall membership. IFB is already starting to see new investigations being referred by its affiliate members.
So far, the Affiliate Model consists of defendant solicitors and investigators, and moving forward, IFB is shifting its focus to increase membership for loss adjustors and third-party administrators.
Currently, the members making up the model are Morris Orman Hearle, Carpenters, BLM, The Cotswold Group, CoventBridge Group, DAC Beachcroft, DWF LLP, Horwich Farrelly, Kennedys Law, Keoghs, Robertson & Co, Weightmans LLP, Clyde & Co and Plexus Law.
Discussing the success of the model in its first year, Nick Benham, IFB’s Head of Customer Services commented: “The Affiliate Model was launched as the industry recognised that in order to build an effective counter fraud strategy, IFB needed to open its membership up beyond insurers and brokers.
“The model has completely exceeded our expectations in terms of members on-boarding in year one. In its second year, we see the natural evolution of the model being the addition of loss adjustors and third-party administrators, who will help to extend the breadth and depth of the membership and the data available.”
