Carpenters become latest IFB affiliate member

03 January 2018

Carpenters is the latest affiliate member to join the Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB), joining the IFB’s Affiliate Model with its defendant services.

The IFB’s Affiliate Model officially launched in April 2017 and sign-up in the first year has already far exceeded projections. The model opened up membership to the IFB to include defendant solicitors, investigators, loss adjustors and third-party administrators.

Carpenters bring the existing membership up to 13, joining BLM, The Cotswold Group, CoventBridge Group, DAC Beachcroft, DWF LLP, Horwich Farrelly, Kennedys Law, Keoghs, Robertson & Co, Weightmans LLP, Clyde & Co and Plexus Law.

In 2018, IFB will continue to increase its affiliate membership, with particular focus on third-party claims handlers and loss adjustors.

Discussing the success of the Affiliate Model, Ben Fletcher, IFB Director, said “The addition of affiliates to IFB membership has already proven to be an essential tool in improving the flow of intelligence in the insurance industry’s counter-fraud structure. Working closely with defendant solicitors, such as Carpenters, strengthens our position in the fight against fraud.

In joining IFB, affiliate members are showing their dedication to fighting insurance fraud with their commitment to playing an active role by participating in the industry’s efforts in disrupting fraudulent activity. We look forward to working with Carpenters in achieving successful results together.”

"Having worked with the IFB on identifying effective policies to combat fraud for some time, affiliate membership will enable us to collaborate ever closer, share data and intelligence and more actively contribute to the industry fight against the ever-changing face of fraud in the claims market. With further changes ahead and a likely increase in fraudulent behaviour, it is essential that the sector breaks down traditional barriers and unites to fight fraudsters."
