Help shape our future membership

Broadening our membership is a key pillar of our Forward Together strategy, and forms part of our goals to enhance our membership framework and the value we can bring to existing members, the wider insurance industry and the public.

We want our future products and services to bring real tangible benefits for our members and the broader industry. By delivering a wider, more inclusive membership model, we can leverage our unique position to strengthen the industry’s collective fight against fraud.

The journey to reaching this aspiration is complex and challenging, but we will get there together. As a valued member, we want you to be part of this journey, so we invite you to share your insights and ideas as we explore how we can best shape the future of our membership.

Our programme of work is in progress, with an initial focus on evolving our foundational documentation which has remained fundamentally unchanged since the IFB was founded. This phase of the programme includes restructuring our Articles of Association, and Database and IFR (Insurance Fraud Register) and IFiHUB (Insurance Fraud Intelligence Hub) rules to: support a broader, more inclusive membership through the removal of barriers to onboarding; ensure ease and reciprocity of data sharing; and adopt a membership structure that enables a fair levy model.

We want to ensure we include feedback from across our varied spectrum of customers through a member-supported working group. While we may need to limit the number of participants, we are keen to engage with any member that might wish to support his important change initiative.

Any Member that wishes to be involved in this important project – which includes supporting a workshop on our value proposition or joining our working group focusing on how we reengineer our Articles of Association - should contact our project lead, Matt Gilham at matt.gilham@insurancefraudbureau.org, through their Head of Fraud (or equivalent) or Interface Manager.
