Enhancing value to Members through broadening our membership
Our broadening of IFB’s Membership programme has rapidly progressed over the past two months. Since our last update we've made significant strides, and we’d like to extend our thanks to all members who have been involved in this initiative. Your insights and enthusiasm are invaluable to us.
So, what’s been accomplished so far?
Workshops and Learnings: We hosted workshop sessions with a wide-ranging group of Heads of Fraud from the GIFC (General Insurance Fraud Committee), non-GIFC, and affiliate members. These sessions have been instrumental in defining and articulating our value proposition. The feedback and ideas generated during these workshops have laid a strong foundation for this strategic pillar of the Forward Together strategy.
Programme Briefings: We conducted briefings with involved members and the IFB Board to align our objectives and gather further input.
Legal and Advisory Support: We’re in the process of engaging external legal advisers to help us evolve our existing corporate documents.
As we initiate the legal review of our documentation and seek necessary data protection advice, we’ll continue to reach out for your views and seek support from the wider membership to help resolve key challenges. This is a collaborative effort, and your participation is crucial to our collective success.
Our goals moving forward continue to be:
- Enhancing value to existing members by eliminating barriers to accessing products, services, and data sharing, while aiming to boost prevention through cross-sector fraud intelligence sharing.
- Strengthening industry defences against fraud by expanding our membership and enhancing fraud data and intelligence sharing.
- Establishing a robust membership and foundational levy framework to ensure the long-term sustainability of the IFB.
Next steps
Members that have expressed an interest in being more closely informed or involved in this programme will be invited to a Members Interest Group. However, we will keep all members updated on progress as we hit key milestones.
Any members interested in contributing to this project can contact Matt Gilham, our project Consultant, at matt.gilham@insurancefraudbureau.org and he can loop in with your Head of Fraud (or equivalent) or Interface Manager. Your insights are invaluable to us as we strive to improve and innovate.
